Cookie & Data Technologies Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

We use minimal data technologies. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. We only use essential technologies (session cookies, localStorage) to maintain your login and preferences, and our own first-party product analytics (via the /api/analytics endpoint on our own domain) to understand how the Service is used — this analytics is not shared with any third-party adtech platform and does not track you across sites.

Essential Technologies

Session Cookie (fd_user_token)

A secure, httpOnly cookie that maintains your login session. Set when you sign in via Google OAuth, removed when you sign out. Required for authentication and cannot be disabled while using authenticated features.

Local Storage (fd_user_token)

Stores your authentication token locally to maintain your session across page loads. Cleared when you sign out.

Locale Preference

We remember your language preference (Traditional Chinese or English) for a consistent browsing experience.

Analytics

First-party product analytics

We use first-party product analytics, self-hosted on Google Cloud (via the /api/analytics endpoint on our own domain), which records the page path you view, the referring URL, and your browser type (user agent) so we can understand how the Service is used and improve it. This analytics sets no tracking cookies, is not shared with any third-party adtech platform, and does not track you across websites. We do not use Plausible, Google Analytics, or any other third-party analytics service.

Technologies We Do NOT Use

  • Third-party tracking cookies
  • Advertising cookies or pixels
  • Cross-site tracking technologies
  • Browser fingerprinting technologies
  • Third-party analytics or adtech services (such as Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or Plausible)

We do record basic usage data with our own first-party product analytics (page path, referrer, browser type) — see the “Analytics” section above. This is first-party and self-hosted, and is not one of the third-party tracking technologies listed here.

Managing Preferences

We use only essential cookies/local storage, and our first-party product analytics sets no cookies, so there are no optional cookies to manage. To remove the session cookie, simply sign out; you may also clear your browser's cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. The first-party product analytics (which records page path, referrer and browser type) is internal telemetry for operating the Service; you can limit it by blocking requests to /api/analytics with your browser or an extension. In countries that do not recognise “legitimate interest” (including China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong), this analytics runs only on your consent or on irreversibly de-identified data.
